Our Core Beliefs

A church is supposed to be a lot of things:

a safe place to explore and discover God; an incubator for authentic relationships;

a source of spiritual truth and teaching;

an advocate for the oppressed and neglected; a training center for believers to become genuine Christ-followers -- and much more.

A core set of beliefs is foundational to all we do as a church; otherwise, we are in danger of chasing popular trends and losing sight of who we are supposed to be.

  • He willingly died to absorb the punishment for our sins and was raised from the dead to validate His authority over the curse of sin and death.
    (1 Corinthians 15:14-19; Romans 4:25)

  • It tells us all we need to know for salvation, and is useful for instruction and direction.

    (2 Timothy 3:14-17; Psalm 119:105)

  • It's consequence is broken relationships in all dimensions - with God, with ourselves, with others and with creation.

    (Romans 3:23; Romans 8:5-8)

  • Reconciliation with God and the promise of eternal life are God's free gifts to all who accept them through faith in Jesus.

    (Romans 8:1-4; Romans 6:23)

  • (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Romans 10:9)

  • He teaches, guides, empowers for ministry and continues the work of transforming our character to be more and more like Jesus.

    (2 Corinthians 3:17-18)

  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the work of Jesus - the church proclaims and demonstrates the Kingdom of God among us.

    (Ephesians 4:11-16)

  • He will return to judge the earth and restore the Kingdom of God to full perfection.

    (1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
